 |
If you take an ordinary train on the JR Tokaido Line for approximately one hour, crossing the Sagami River, you will arrive at Hiratsuka. Hiratsuka is located approximately 60 km away from Tokyo to the south-west. It is located almost in the center of Kanagawa Prefecture, in the southern part of the Sagami Plain, forming a fan-shaped area extending from the coast line approximately 4.8 km to the north-west. It lies on the plain which developed between the Sagami River and the Kaname River and is framed by the heights and hills surrounding them. At its back lie the Tanzawa and Oyama mountains. The town is favored with a mild climate in all four seasons, and you can see Mt. Fuji and the Hakone mountains in the far distance on the western side.
